Wow. This is a pretty cool video of a dog dancing with his owner to a song from the movie Grease. It's starts off a bit slow, but it's worth sticking through to the end. Pretty amazing.

Welcome to Pet Effect. I'm your host, Jeremy, and I have a confession to make: I've never blogged a word in my life. This is my first stab, so feel free to chime in on how bad a job I'm doing and how my dog could probably form more coherent sentences.

I've started this blog for a number of reasons:

• First, the most heinously commercial one: I've helped launch a website called BaxterBoo.com with a bunch of fellow pet-lovers, and want to drive some traffic there. Not just traffic, but gobs of traffic. Not just gobs of traffic, but hundred foot high piles of traffic, so that out web hosting company calls me and says, "Please! Make it stop! You've downed our entire datacenter!" So, full disclosure: I'm trying to earn a living! But instead of a suit and tie, I wear jeans and am covered in pet hair.
• Second, I have what many would call "Pet Issues." I share my home with 4 dogs, 3 birds, lots of fish and I hope to get a cat or two soon. That's in addition to my 6 kids. That's a lot of mouths to feed, but I don't mind. I grew up with dogs, cats, ferrets, hamsters, frogs, turtles, birds, ants (in a farm), lizards, snakes, guinea pigs, and probably several other types of pets that aren't immediatly springing to mind. I like pets, and they seem to generally like me.
• Third, there's not much out there in the way of decent blogs that cover pet-related news, the latest pet gear and such. So, here it is. I'm going to do all I can to be the best out there. That's where you come in. If what you see interests you, jump in and participate. This whole thing is meant to be a dialogue and resource for the pet-loving set.
