In Honor of Rescue Dogs

Well, today is the 5th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. While we're thinking about the evil and tragedy of that day, I thought it might be worthwhile to also ponder the good that appeared as well in the form of hard-working rescue dogs. Here's a great gallery of photos from that day and those afterwards of brave dogs helping in the rescue effort. Be sure to click through all the pages linked on the bottom. Very moving.
I find it interesting that the attacks were carried out by Muslim extremists, and Muslim extremists often view dogs as unclean and evil. It's a bit ironic that dogs were working hard to help out after the attacks carried out by people who don't like dogs.
