What's With the Thermal Cat Mat?
One of my biggest surprises this winter has been how well folks like our Thermal Cat Mats. Essentially, they're really nice and compact cat beds that have a hidden layer of thermal material that passively reflects heat back to your cat. It keeps them twice as warm as a regular bed and is very comfy, but is nice and thin. We've actually had lots of folks buy several at a time in a single order.
So what's the deal? Why do cats (and their owners) love them so much? Sure it's warm. Sure it's comfy, but I have an additional hypothesis.
It's crinkly.
That's right, when your cat moves around on it, the thermal cat bed's internal thermal layer make a crinkly sound that drives cats bonkers with feline affection. They love to endlessly roll around on this thing, soak in the warmth and listen to the crinkly sounds.
