The earthquake that rocked Haiti on January 12 killed, injured and displaced millions of people...and animals. There have been fundraisers galore, telethons and rescue teams headed there to lend a hand. As we are all concerned with saving human lives, there are a lot of us also concerned with the well-being of the animals and pets. The Haitian people and animals need all the help they can get right now.
We've heard from some concerned people, wanting to help the pets that have been affected by the awful earthquake(s) in Haiti. We have some idea of places you can turn to and help (click on the names to visit their sites):
- ASPCA
- Best Friends
- United Animal Nations
- American Humane Association
- World Society for the Protection of Animals
- International Fund for Animal Welfare
- The Kinship Circle
All members of the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH), these organizations are devoted to assembling on-the-ground efforts and organizing donations to assist animal welfare teams headed to (or already in) Haiti.
The animals need our help!
