I have made comments in the past about how owning a multitude of cats might deem you as a "crazy cat lady." Is there such a thing or should the stereotype disappear all together?

I'm surprised that live television shows still haven't figured out that live animals and interviews never go as planned. These two ladies certainly aren't making a good case for why the poor dogs should be adopted, but it is hilarious to watch.
Not quite as popular (yet), but ever as important as Take Your Dog to Work Day...National Take Your Cat to the Vet day is coming up on August 22 (this Saturday). Cats, though highly independent and able to give themselves their own bath, are not capable of giving themelves yearly exams.
Gibson, a Harlequin Great Dane from California, was dubbed the World's Tallest Dog by Guinness World Records in 2004. Thanks to our friend Michele commenting on a blog we did a few weeks ago (mentioning Gibson's world record), we are sad to report that Gibson has passed away. My heart goes out to Gibson's owner, Sandy Hall. Losing a pet is not easy.
Gibson, the "lovable giant" (measuring in at 42.2" tall), recently underwent surgery to amputate his front right leg to try to stop the spread of bone cancer. Sadly, it was discovered that the cancer spread to his spine. Sandy said he was having trouble using his legs in his final days. He passed away peacefully in the arms of his owner last Friday, August 7.
If you aren't familiar with Gibson's story and all the great things he did for people, check out his web page.
