I don’t have a cat, but if I did, I’m sure this Thursday would start out much the same as it did on August 26, also known as National Dog Day. However, this Thursday, October 29th, is National Cat Day.
Established by pet lifestyle expert and author Colleen Paige, National Cat Day is a day to celebrate our furry (or not so furry) felines and recognize all the joy and happiness they bring to our lives. It’s also a time to think about cat adoption and support cats finding forever homes.
5 Ways You Can Celebrate National Cat Day
1. Have fun and throw a party for your cat (complete with special treats)
2. Adopt a cat or kitten from a local shelter
3. Play and cuddle with your cat (if you need cool cat toys, you know we’ve got ‘em)
4. Amuse yourself with some hilarious cat photos
5. Remember cats gone by (those that have lived their nine lives on earth, but still live on in our hearts)
Enjoy the day and don’t forget to let your kitty know that you love and appreciate them!
