Facebook reunites more than just long lost friends, exes, relatives and schoolmates, a lost dog recently used the popular networking site to find his owner.
Ok, it didn’t happen exactly like that. A military family in Oklahoma found a "stray" dog under a bush in their yard. When they took it to the vet, they found out the dog was chipped with his owners information. The family used Facebook to find the Gary Rowley and ask if he had a dog named Brindle. The man was shocked by the Facebook news, as his dog Brindle ran away 10 years ago. The dog ended up 1,300 miles from his home and how he survived all this time, no one really knows.
A kind Virginia dog lover thought that the pup deserved a ride home so she flew to Oklahoma and drove the 1,300 miles back to Fredericksburg, Virginia to reunite Brindle with Rowley. She figured that the dog spent 10 years getting that far that she could spend a few days driving him home safely.
Brindle is not in the best health after his years on the road, but Gary plans to give him everything he needs to live a healthy life. He also plans to make sure that the dog never runs away from home again by installing child safety locks and ensuring that his dog never learns how to unlock a lock or turn a door knob.
