Dogs rule. Cats drool. At least according to a recent Associated Press-Petside.com poll.
There are dog people and there are cat people. And according to the poll, which surveyed almost 2,000 adults (not all pet owners), there are more dog people in America. In fact, 74 percent of people like dogs a lot, and only 41 percent like cats a lot. "A lot" was the highest ranking participants could give.
And as far as dislikes go, cats are disliked more than dogs are disliked. Fifteen percent of the adults questioned said they disliked cats a lot, while only two percent said they disliked dogs a lot. I guess dog people know what they like and dislike more.
I decided to conduct my own little survey to discover exactly what about cats and dogs it is that people like or dislike. Turns out, people get pretty heated and opinionated when dogs vs cats come up. I wasn't expecting that. I asked people to give me a word or two that explains why they liked and disliked either dogs or cats. With each word I received, I also got a story to explain. When I got to the bottom of things, here's what I found out:

Don't get upset if you are a cat person, you just aren't the majority. And keep in mind that this poll was taken by randomly selected people and might not necessarily reflect everyone's opinions. In fact, sixty percent of all adults said they liked both dogs and cats, what does that tell you?
With that said though, what are your opinions? Are you a dog person or a cat person? Why do you think cats are better than dogs? Or why are dogs better than cats? Please share!
