Sounds odd, but it's no joke. I'm definitely not insensitive when it comes to losing a pet (I have felt that pain), but this idea seems a little far-fetched to me.
Soft-Hearted Products are self-described as a "soft, huggable, Pet Urn alternative." Basically, it's a fashionable throw pillow with a secret. Inside is a pouch of ashes of a deceased pet. That's right, you don't have to part with your beloved pet after death, you can keep him around as a throw pillow.
I understand that when you get your deceased pet's cremated remains back, they come in an often unsightly tin or cardboard box...something that can never capture your love or your loss. The intentions are that you will bury or spread the remains somewhere in memory. The idea of a commemorative pillow is understandable...to soften the loss of a pet. But, is it a little creepy to have the actual ashes in the pillow that you can place on a bed or couch, or carry around with you?
I'm not sure that carrying a deceased pet pillow around (as you would a living pet) is a healthy way to deal with the loss of a pet, but then again, I am not a psychiatrist. Plus, if you have other pets, wouldn't having pet ashes around disturb them or maybe entice them to chew up say ...a pillow?
