Maybe the first lesson of Raising a Puppy 101 should have been "Don't Leave a 4-year-old Boy with a 1-week-old Puppy" instead...
A 4-year-old British boy, Daniel, was just trying to do the right thing, when something bad happened. His 1-week-old Cocker Spaniel puppy got muddy "playing" in the garden, so the youngin' decided to clean the dirty pup in the toilet. Now, as far as I know, week-old puppies don't exactly "play" yet, so maybe the boy was trying to cover up the fact that the dog was out "playing" in the garden (considering the pup would require help to get out there in the first place). Anyway, the boy flushed the toilet and the pup went down the drain and got trapped in the pipe.
Firefighters and animal welfare officers couldn't reach the pup, so they called a plumber. The plumber was able to use a scope to gently push the pup through the pipe to the nearest manhole cover, where fireman grabbed the dog, which was miraculously still alive.
The dog's name is now Dyno (after the plumbing company that saved the dog), and is alive and well at home. Daniel apologized and of course blamed his twin brother, who was (apparently) the one that got the dog dirty in the garden.
"I had to give him a wash. I'm so, so sorry. I won't do it again."
