We often share stories of our resident dog Dexter, who was in a bad accident 2 years ago. After our recent newsletter about Dexter bouncing back, we got an email from Moe, who shared an incredible story about her dog bouncing back after suffering injuries.

Here’s a little tidbit of Triumph the Siberian Husky’s survival story…
Triumph was found alongside a road in Turkey more than 6 years ago. Some disgusting person brutally cut both of her back legs off, and left her there to die. She was rescued and taken to an animal clinic where they saved her life. She was cared for at the clinic for awhile, and volunteers worked hard to find her a forever home. Through a twist of fate, a woman in Nashville, Tennessee, named Moe, agreed to be Triumph’s forever home.

Moe was able to get temporary prosthetics made for Triumph and eventually, a veterinarian, Dr. Robert Taylor at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver offered a first time, "cutting edge" surgery, to give Triumph permanent implanted prostheses. Triumph was surely triumphant and thrived in her life with “legs”. Triumph became a Delta Certified Therapy Dog and visits the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and nearby schools, motivating and bringing smiles along the way.

In the past year, Triumph has been faced with more challenges, and sadly had to have both of her “legs” amputated after infections took over. It seems that even though she is once again without legs, she is doing well and continues to be a positive role model and inspire dogs and people.
