Without realizing it, this week has sort of turned into Cat Week at BaxterBoo.com. Starting with a few cat videos, now we have a unique story about a cat that spent one of his precious nine lives.

A cat in Learned, Mississippi (not joking, that is the name of the 50 person town) was shot in the head with an arrow and survived to meow about it. MEOW-CH!
The cat’s owner Randolph Henderson said the cat, named BC, just sauntered into the house from outside as usual, but this time with an arrow through his head (yep, arrow as in bow and arrow). The cat acted normal, as though nothing was wrong, except when he tried to eat food out of his bowl, he couldn’t because there was a darn arrow in the way. Now that would be an odd sight!
At the vet’s office, everyone was surprised that the cat was alive. Apparently the arrow, which entered through the forehead and exited at the back of the head, missed the cat’s brain by a fraction of an inch. The doctors removed the arrow and BC is just fine now, with the only sign of the injury being scabs where the arrow once was.
The owner believes that one of his neighbors (everyone is a neighbor in a 50 person town) was using the cat as archery practice. Maybe down there in Learned, they ain’t got none of ‘em target things to practice on. Sorry, had to poke fun, but in all seriousness, this story has to prove that cats do in fact have nine lives. If you survive getting pierced in the head by an arrow, you are a cool cat in my book.
Come to think of it, BC would be a perfect nominee for next year’s Hambone Award!
