OK, I admit it. I'm a sci-fi geek. So I was perusing the sci-fi fansite io9 this morning and came across this gem. It's from Make Magazine (subscription required to view the article), but was recently featured on Make TV.
The general idea is that the VCR motor powers the cat food shaker, which dumps the cat food into the cat bowl. The VCR itself can be programmed to activate at certain times, allowing your cat to get his precious kibbles while you are galavanting elsewhere.
Pretty cool, except who could actually ever program a VCR when they were actually in use, much less today? Isn't that why Tivo came along?
