There is nothing like a best friend...and this hound dog (Roscoe) and orangutan (Suryia) are most definitely BFFs, and also Unlikely Animal Friends. Which, turns out, is the name of a cool television special I recently discovered on the National Geographic Channel. I just think this is one of the sweetest stories about a dog and his best friend, however unlikely a pair they are! Catch the next airing of Unlikely Animal Friends on the National Geographic Channel this Saturday, Sept 26. The hour-long show will cover multiple improbable pairs (like a lioness and an antelope) and examines their relationships and why it seems to work.
Here's the story of Suryia and Roscoe's friendship:

It's a very heartwarming love story...

Nov 9, 2009 at 9:16 PM I know who these two are. They are my father the orangutan- he has carrot red hair and loved to swim and my dog Remington who was a german short haired pointer black and white spotted- looked so much like this one. She lived to be 15 and when i had to put her down i told her my father would be waiting for her in heaven to take care of her and show her around. Call me crazy if you want but i know its them and i couldnt be happier.
