Towering over toy poodles and yards above yorkies, stands Titan. Titan is the newest dog inductee into the Guinness World Records as the World’s Tallest Dog. He received the world title on November 12; his was one of 30 awards given that day in celebration of Guinness World Records Day.
Titan is a special dog in more ways than one. In addition to his unique stature, he is deaf, epileptic and partially blind. His owner, Diana Taylor was elated to hear that Titan won the title after a long time seeking it out. Titan was obviously thrilled too, he drooled all over the official certificate.
Titan is a 4-year-old Great Dane from San Diego that stands at 42.25” from paw to shoulder. The previous record holder, Gibson (that we introduced you to awhile ago), recently passed away leaving his mark on millions and a record to be filled. If Titan stood on his back legs, he would be aboout 80" tall, that's about 6'6"
If you’ve got some time to waste, check out the Guinness World Records site, there are a lot of interesting (and by interesting, I mean downright weird) records there. The World’s Tallest Dog entry has not yet been updated with Titan’s win.
Congratulations Titan, you stay tall!
