Plan a party!

Everyone loves an excuse to get together, and your pet's birthday can be a crowd pleaser! Invite friends and their dogs from the dog park (if they play well together.) Neighborhood friends or a few family members would also make great invitees.

Keep it simple and don't invite the whole world to keep the chaos to a minimum. Keep in mind though that part of the charm of pets is their unpredictability. So expect some photo/video opportunities including bloopers!

Party style

We have party hats, scrunchies and birthday outfits to make your pup shine on their big day.

Pup guest treats

A cute idea is to offer a Bark Buffet offering cute containers of various treats to suit even finicky guests. Or try making your own dog biscuits with our paw or bone-shaped treat baking pans.

Remember, always keep human treats and pet treats on separate tables!

Games

Try setting up an agility course and lure pets through the obstacles with treats. You could try one of our agility kits or invent your own course with things around the house. Get those cameras ready to capture the fun!

Another great dog birthday game idea is to make a puppy pinata. Instead of candy, fill a pinata full of dog treats. This works particularly well with larger dogs who will love tearing into the tissue paper and cardboard. Monitor the fun to make sure no one gets too feisty or guards the food.

Make the day all about your pet

Maybe a pet party seems overwhelming to you or you know your pup is more of an introvert. Or... perhaps your pet is a cat! It's perfectly fine to just keep the day simple and do your pet's favorite things. Maybe you visit a new dog park or take a new trail.

Get your cat a new teaser toy and play until she's exhausted. Letting your feline partake in some fine catnip might also be an option.

Yeah, I would have preferred CATNIP!

How would your pet like to celebrate their birthday or adoption day?
