Big Dogs, Small Dogs = Good Buddies

main image

Here at BaxterBoo.com, we hear all about people's preferences about dogs. "I'm not a small-dog person," or "I can't imagine having a big dog."

But man's best friend may be a bit more open minded when it comes to picking out a pal. The Internet has several cute canine couples with serious size discrepancies. And that's what makes them so special!

Meet Harlow and Indie

It's hard to look anywhere online without being punched in the feels with adorable photos of Harlow the Weimaraner and the little Dachshund Indie.

You'll notice that the above Instagram account is called "harlowandsage." This is because Harlow's original buddy was 13-year-old Sage, a feisty and funny dapple doxie. Unfortunately, Sage passed away in September of 2013 with heart complications.

At first, Harlow didn't look like she was going to make the adjustment to the little Indie. After all, one pup can't replace another. And it's not fair to expect them to.

But now Harlow and Indie are getting along famously. So famously, in fact, that their images have been put into a book to be released October 2, 2014!

Meet Pete and Tally

Not nearly as famous, but an up-and-coming dog duo are Pete and Tally. Pete is a handsome Labrador Retriever. Tally appears to be a Shih Tzu-Poodle mix, but we haven't been able to find out that information. Despite her questionable parentage, Pete is quite taken with Tally. In fact, they have been unofficially been named the Internet's cutest and cuddliest couple.

Pete and Tally's Instagram account is full of cute shots of them dressed like superheroes, cuddling, commiserating over bath day and more. This is one of my personal favorites, though.

Pete and Tally make such a fabulous couple that Pete finally asked Tally to marry him, and she said "Woof!"

Meet Maggie and Dude

Maggie is a 195-pound English Mastiff and Dude is a 3-pound Chihuahua. This video was taken when Dude was just a pup, but their friendship has endured to this day. Watch more of their antics here

Who are your favorite Internet cute animal couples?

These videos and pictures really tug at my heart strings and made me smile from ear to ear. reminds me back when I had my 17 year old Hskey and 10 year old poodle, He would nap with her ,play protect her. It goes to show you that you don't need to be worried about a big dog that swallow your little dog in one gulp. Really, l look fwd to reading these blogs and wonderful videos, both informative and fun. Also makes a nice break inbetween shopping at baxterboo and I end up going back to buy something I had forgotten for my pet or as a gift. Please keep them coming.
