Colorado Mountain Lion Claims the Life of Local Dog

main image

We Live In the Wild

In Colorado Springs a man was walking his dog in a gated community when a mountain lion jumped out of the bushes, grabbed his Dachshund, ran away with and ate it.

Attacks like this are not uncommon. Another resident of the area told the reporters that several years ago a mountain lion climbed a tree, jumped onto their deck, and took their dog. The reality of it is that they were here first, we have built our houses on their home and we have to respect the fact that mountain lions, bears, and other animals will always be around. If you ever encounter a mountain lion, do not run, back away slowly and make yourself look as big as possible.

Be safe, walk in groups, and remember to pay attention to your surroundings!
