Hopefully you're enjoying the day with friends and family (including the furry ones.) Perhaps you're out grilling, enjoying a cold one, and grateful to be enjoying the freedoms we've been given in this great country. Unfortunately, one of the very things we most enjoy while celebrating can make our pets very nervous. One of the things you can do to help relax your pet before the big night of fireworks is to make sure they get a good amount of exercise beforehand. With all of the preparations for the day, it's an easy thing to overlook. So try to toss the ball for your dog and get him good and tuckered out before you put him somewhere protected later tonight.
There's nothing quite so relaxing as a good barbecue with all the fixin's. A couple of trips to the cooler, hearin' ma yammerin' on about a sale at the local market... well, it's enough to make you want to just take a nap. But then there's little Fido givin' ya dem puppy dawg eyes. He's hearing the neighbor boys shoot bottle rockets off early, and you know this is just the beginning to the nervousness ahead. You know you should walk the dog, but (yawn) it's so hot!
