Obedience classes. Dog psychologists. Canine Good Citizen courses. Let's face it - there are a lot of societal pressures put on the modern pet! Devious dogs now have a way to express youthful rebellion other than leaving a deposit on the carpet.
Jorge Bendersky, Celebrity Dog Groomer, can now offer your pup a wide selection of pet-safe temporary tattoos if you happen to be visiting Manhattan's Upper East Side and have an extra C-note.
Dana Humphrey, Bendersky’s P.R. rep, said in an email that glitter tattoos are the latest trend in canine fashion.
“Bendersky has always been a fan of the ink and wears bold tattoos himself. Now, he extends his love for tattoos to his furry friends. Glitter Tattoos for dogs allow your pooch to express their inner artistic selves by prancing around and showing off their snazzy glitter design.”
The tattoos are especially popular on short-haired dogs. “In the summer, they cut the dogs’ hair short, so you’ve got to supplement the glamour,” says Bendersky. “Having no hair is no excuse not to be glamorous.”
Bendersky swears his canine clients like getting inked. "Dogs are like humans, and when they accessorize they get attention. A pink dog does not know it's pink, but when people are smiling and taking pictures, it gets attention," he said. "So, a dog likes to get tattoos."
We'd like to see Mr. Bendersky try his trade on a hairless cat, though we speculate he may receive some modifications to his own tattoos.
