How To Measure Your Dog's Paws!
Proper footwear fit is essential to a fun day out (or in). Here's how to measure your pet's paws...
With your pet's paw on the ground, measure from the tip of the claws (those have to fit inside the shoe too) to the back of where the paw touches the ground, which is just behind the pad.
While your pet's paw is still on the ground, measure from side to side at the widest point of your pet's paw, which is usually near the base of the toes.
Handy Tip: Try having your pet step on a piece of paper, then trace around the paw. Then, while your pet is off eating your houseplants or terrorizing the neighborhood, you can measure the traced outline in peace.
How To Measure Your Dog!
I have worked with the finest furry tailors in the world, and am here to share my bounty of knowledge. Here's how to measure your pet...
Measure from the base of the tail (where it connects to the hindquarters) up to where the collar typically sits at the base of the neck, then follow up with a generous back scratch.
This is measured by giving your pet a
hug, during which you measure the entire circumference (all the way around) at the widest point of your pet's chest. This is typically right behind the front legs.
First, plenty of kisses. Then, measure the neck's circumference
(the distance around it) at the point where the collar sits.
Important Sizing Note: The given measurements are the dimensions of the actual product, not of the pet they fit. After measuring your pet, make sure all measurements fit within the following dimensions (with a little room to spare in the chest and neck).

This was purchased for my Bichipoo to wear during agility class in a hot environ. It worked well and kept him cool enough to do his skills comfortably. It is a good fit and easy to take on and off. The bottom stays wet longer than the top, but is easy to rewet when needed.

This summer's been hot and humid and the girls hated going out during the day, even to the park. Bella is my rescue Maltese /Pot-Bellied Pig, and over-heats quickly and can't walk our normal route without having to ride in the wagon. Wearing her Medium vest allows her to stay cool enough to keep up with us. Molly is my skin sensitive rescue Wheaton and must wear a "rash-guard" if she has a short summer cut. Just a wet T-shirt isn't enough because it's too wet. Her Large size vest droops a bit under her chest and belly but I really wanted to be sure the top of the vest covered all of her sensitive back. I plan to sew it to fit but for now it's fine using a tie to cinch the vest at the shoulders. It's important that the vest makes contact with their skin in order for cooling through evaporation to occur. Roxy is my super-hyper rescue Pom with only 2 speeds--high rev and sleep. She is always panting, even in AC. Her X-Small vest is a bit snug, but when soaked with water, fits best. Loving Our Stylin Hot but Cool Vests
