The PetSafe® Gentle Leader® Chic Designer Headcollar and Leash prevents pulling, lunging, jumping, and other undesired behaviors with immediate control. Unlike traditional collars, the Gentle Leader places pressure on the back of the neck instead of the front of the delicate throat, preventing choking and coughing. The padded nose loop allows you to direct your dog’s head in the direction you want to go. Most dogs quickly learn to stop pulling and start paying attention to you during walks.
Although headcollars can be mistaken for a muzzle, your dog is able to eat, drink and play normally while wearing it. The Gentle Leader Chic Designer Headcollar features a cheery bones pattern that helps others not to confuse your pet's training device with a muzzle, which is helpful, especially with breeds that look intimidating. The Chic Designer series includes a matching 4-foot leash.
The Gentle Leader Headcollar is an easy-to-fit training tool for teaching your dog better leash manners. When your dog pulls, the Gentle Leader Headcollar gently moves his head and body back towards you. This effectively refocuses his attention to you and off the squirrel, dog, stranger, or other distraction. You can easily train your dog to heel using the Gentle Leader Headcollar plus your preferred training method. Once your dog has learned to let you lead walks, you might only need to use the Gentle Leader Headcollar as a backup during situations when you'll need extra control, like at the vet or dog park.
