Semintra Oral Solution

Semintra is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used for the control of systemic hypertension in cats. It may also be used for the reduction of proteinuria associated with chronic kidney disease.

Telmisartan

Your pet may experience vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, anemia, dehydration, poor appetite, and weight loss. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

 Administer with the enclosed dosing syringe. After dosing, the syringe should be removed from the bottle, rinsed and dried and the bottle cap screwed back on tightly. Administer as directed by veterinarian.

For oral use in cats only.  Pregnant women should avoid contact with Semintra because substances that act on the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) such as angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) can cause fetal and neonatal morbidity and death during pregnancy in humans.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. The following drugs can potentially interact with Semintra: digoxin.  The safe use of Semintra with other anti-hypertensive medications has not been evaluated.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; widespread hives and itching.
