How To Measure Your Dog's Paws!
Proper footwear fit is essential to a fun day out (or in). Here's how to measure your pet's paws...
With your pet's paw on the ground, measure from the tip of the claws (those have to fit inside the shoe too) to the back of where the paw touches the ground, which is just behind the pad.
While your pet's paw is still on the ground, measure from side to side at the widest point of your pet's paw, which is usually near the base of the toes.
Handy Tip: Try having your pet step on a piece of paper, then trace around the paw. Then, while your pet is off eating your houseplants or terrorizing the neighborhood, you can measure the traced outline in peace.
How To Measure Your Dog!
I have worked with the finest furry tailors in the world, and am here to share my bounty of knowledge. Here's how to measure your pet...
Measure from the base of the tail (where it connects to the hindquarters) up to where the collar typically sits at the base of the neck, then follow up with a generous back scratch.
This is measured by giving your pet a
hug, during which you measure the entire circumference (all the way around) at the widest point of your pet's chest. This is typically right behind the front legs.
First, plenty of kisses. Then, measure the neck's circumference
(the distance around it) at the point where the collar sits.
Important Sizing Note: The given measurements are the dimensions of the actual product, not of the pet they fit. After measuring your pet, make sure all measurements fit within the following dimensions (with a little room to spare in the chest and neck).

Why We Love It:
We absolutely love the pliable sole and lightweight boot that's perfect for low-impact activities. The Summit Trex Dog Boots by Ruffwear provide everyday paw traction and protection from extreme temperatures, abrasive surfaces, and salt or other ice melt chemicals.
The pliable, smooth outsole is flexible and the non-marking sole is great for indoor and nautical use when extra traction is needed! These dog boots are great for trails and urban paw hazards such as broken glass and hot pavement.
These dog boots include a Sure Cinch closure strap for a great fit. The elastic gaiters lock out dirt and protect your dog's ankles. The breathable materials are weather resistant and sturdy.
Boot Care: Wash in cold water on gentle cycle with a mild detergent after securing fasteners. Air Dry.

I measured my Weim's paws as specified. He has hand-sized paws and tiny ankles. Two problems: #1, the hard edge of the rubber needs to be determined. I could barely squeeze his paws through the cuff edge. #2, once I did, the rubber shoe was twice as long as needed and the sock not long enough. Also, the velcro strap needed to be higher on his leg, which couldn't be done. So...he takes them off sometimes. Otherwise, the workmanship is great. They just don't fit him right.

We recently purchased these for our large male Aussie who loves his walks. We need to protect his feet from the hot summer pavement and ice melting crystals neighbors put out on the sidewalks in the winter. He also has severe allergies to the outdoors and these may help protect his feet. So far we like these shoes. They are the first shoe that stays on and doesn't flip upside down when he walks. They stay put and he got used to them very quickly. Be sure to measure carefully so the shoe is not to big or too small. If you are careful you can slide the shoes on the feet being watchful of their dew claw. The Velcro really works and the molded bottom of the shoe is what sets these shoes apart. We are happy with the quality. We don't know how long they last since this is our first experience with them but we would try more of this brand for different terrain. We are also thinking of buying these for our small dogs to keep their feet clean on walks since they have long fur.
