How To Measure Your Dog's Paws!
Proper footwear fit is essential to a fun day out (or in). Here's how to measure your pet's paws...
With your pet's paw on the ground, measure from the tip of the claws (those have to fit inside the shoe too) to the back of where the paw touches the ground, which is just behind the pad.
While your pet's paw is still on the ground, measure from side to side at the widest point of your pet's paw, which is usually near the base of the toes.
Handy Tip: Try having your pet step on a piece of paper, then trace around the paw. Then, while your pet is off eating your houseplants or terrorizing the neighborhood, you can measure the traced outline in peace.
How To Measure Your Dog!
I have worked with the finest furry tailors in the world, and am here to share my bounty of knowledge. Here's how to measure your pet...
Measure from the base of the tail (where it connects to the hindquarters) up to where the collar typically sits at the base of the neck, then follow up with a generous back scratch.
This is measured by giving your pet a
hug, during which you measure the entire circumference (all the way around) at the widest point of your pet's chest. This is typically right behind the front legs.
First, plenty of kisses. Then, measure the neck's circumference
(the distance around it) at the point where the collar sits.
Important Sizing Note: The given measurements are the dimensions of the actual product, not of the pet they fit. After measuring your pet, make sure all measurements fit within the following dimensions (with a little room to spare in the chest and neck).

I call Tommy "my little husky" because he loves the snow! He doesn't think twice about braving the cold & snowy Nebraska weather. I never have to worry if he's warm enough in this wonderful winter parka. Thanks Baxter Boo!

I purchased this Wind Parka Dog Coat for the springtime. It has a nice thick and soft lining, and it is similar to the lining found in most coats used for the winter season. I was hoping the lining to be a bit thinner for spring use, but it will be just fine for real cold/windy spring mornings and evenings. I was also looking for a water-proof jacket for the rainy spring days with a hood, so this coat works great for that feature. The hood on the coat is a lighter weight fabric much like you would find on a spring jacket. I think the hood is a good size and it fits pretty well on my Shih Tzu's head to keep the rain off him. Like the description says, it's a coat, not a jacket. So if you need something a bit lighter in weight, this may not be the coat for you. If we get a rainy, humid spring day, it will be a bit too heavy for us to use. But on cool, rainy or windy days, it's perfect. I purchased an XL and it's just the right fit for my 18 lb. Shih Tzu with a 19" girth and 16" length.

This coat is made of a really nice weight waterproof polyester & lined with a heavy fleece material that will keep my dogs extremely warm! The only thing I wish is that the hood was also lined with fleece.

I have this coat in RED too! The Blue is such a pretty color that when it went on sale I bought it! These coats have quite a bit of adjustment with their high quality velcro. I also love that the underside of these coats are black, and they machine wash very nicely (I hang them to Dry). Both coats still look awesome! They are thick, and VERY well made! My Frenchie has a 16" Neck, 21" Girth/Chest and weighs 24 lbs. He is wearing the XL size. I have the neck velcro tab on a normal position. However I have the other two velcro tabs cinched up on the snuggest position. I also like to put his harness over the outside of these coats to snug up any gaps and keep him warmer. My Frenchie isn't over weight at all. He has a muscular, athletic build, so this coat is roomy, other than on his neck. We take long walks, 25-30 City Blocks, everyday, in all kinds of weather. This is the ONLY coat he has that has a hood that will cover those big ears in the Seattle snow & rain!

Bought this blue vest for my 6 lb yorkie and it fit him perfectly. It's well made and not stiff material. My yorkie loves his new vest, it keeps him nice and warm.

We've received several compliments on this oh so warm coat. We like to walk in almost all kinds of weather - not when its sub zero. Therefore my yorkie needed a coat that was warm, wind resistant and kept his belly from getting wet. This coat was just what we where looking for. My yorkie is male, on the chubby side with lots of long hair at 12 lbs. We bought 1 size up because he's thick in the chest and most coats don't go around his neck. Plus I like as much coverage as I could get with this coat. I like that I don't have to put his harness on underneath the coat too.
