Product Description

Panacur C is a broad spectrum parasiticide used for treatment and removal of ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephaia), whipworms (Trichuris vulpis), and tapeworms (Taenia pisiformis). The antiparasitic action of Panacur C is believed to be due to the inhibition of energy metabolism in the parasite.

Usage

Panacur C should be administered as directed by your veterinarian. Efficacy is dependent on the correct dose level based on body weight over the appropriate treatment period. When possible, animals should be weighed to determine body weight accurately. Daily dosages must be repeated for 3 consecutive days or as directed by your veterinarian.

Dosing Table

Dogs 0-10 lbs: 1 gram packet

Dogs 10-20 lbs: 2 gram packet

Dogs 20-30 lbs: 1 gram + 2 gram packet

Dogs 30-40 lbs: 4 gram packet

Dogs 40-50 lbs: 1 gram + 4 gram packet

Dogs 50-60 lbs: 2 gram + 4 gram packet

Dogs 60-80 lbs: 4 gram + 4 gram packet

Dogs over 80 lbs use the combinations to obtain recommended daily dose. If the dogs weight is in-between the suggested dosing sizes, it is safe to use the next higher size.

Side Effects

Side effects may include possible vomiting. Fenbendazole may cause hypersensitivity reaction upon the death of the parasite releasing antigens.

Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Cautions

Panacur C is for use in dogs only. Do not administer to cats or a sick dog/puppy.

This medication should not be used in animals allergic to fenbendazole. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your canine. The following drugs can potentially interact with fenbendazole: dibromsalan and tribromsalan. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your canine more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your canine experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Pets Choice and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
