The Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA), co-founded by Leah D'Ambrosio and Kathleen Prasad in 2008, is a worldwide grassroots non-profit organization that aims to improve the lives of shelter animals and their caregivers through the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki meditation techniques. SARA's unique approach allows the animals to guide the healing process, empowering them and prioritizing their emotional well-being. Our members follow a code of ethics, respecting the animals and treating all parties involved with dignity. Through our member community's efforts, SARA has reached thousands of animals globally, promoting respect, compassion, and humane treatment.

SARA believes in supporting the mental and emotional needs of animals, recognizing them as individuals with their own personalities and preferences. Our goal is to create a happier and more relaxed environment for animals in shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue centers, fostering positive change and well-being.
