MilbeGuard is a once a month meat-free, beef flavored tablet used for the prevention of heartworm disease and the control of roundworms, hookworms and whipworms in dogs and roundworms and hookworms in cats. Dogs should be tested for heartworm prior to use. For use in dogs 4 weeks of age and older weighing at least 2 pounds and for cats 6 weeks of age and older weighing at least 1.5 pounds.

milbemycin oxime

Side Effects
There are very few side effects when the drug is given at the normal dose. Side effects may occur and can include lethargy, vomiting, ataxia, anorexia, diarrhea, convulsions, weakness, and hypersalivation. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Usage
MilbeGuard should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian.

Cautions
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. No interactions have been noted with this medication. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
