How To Measure Your Dog's Paws!
Proper footwear fit is essential to a fun day out (or in). Here's how to measure your pet's paws...
With your pet's paw on the ground, measure from the tip of the claws (those have to fit inside the shoe too) to the back of where the paw touches the ground, which is just behind the pad.
While your pet's paw is still on the ground, measure from side to side at the widest point of your pet's paw, which is usually near the base of the toes.
Handy Tip: Try having your pet step on a piece of paper, then trace around the paw. Then, while your pet is off eating your houseplants or terrorizing the neighborhood, you can measure the traced outline in peace.
How To Measure Your Dog!
I have worked with the finest furry tailors in the world, and am here to share my bounty of knowledge. Here's how to measure your pet...
Measure from the base of the tail (where it connects to the hindquarters) up to where the collar typically sits at the base of the neck, then follow up with a generous back scratch.
This is measured by giving your pet a
hug, during which you measure the entire circumference (all the way around) at the widest point of your pet's chest. This is typically right behind the front legs.
First, plenty of kisses. Then, measure the neck's circumference
(the distance around it) at the point where the collar sits.
Important Sizing Note: The given measurements are the dimensions of the actual product, not of the pet they fit. After measuring your pet, make sure all measurements fit within the following dimensions (with a little room to spare in the chest and neck).
Take it easy and have a nice walk with the Gooby Escape Proof Easy Fit Dog Harness in Hot Pink!
Escape free closure
Step in harness
POM plastic hardware and D-ring leash attachment
Why We Love It:
The Gooby Escape Free Easy Fit Dog Harness is designed specifically for pullers and escape artists. This unique dog harness offers a comfortable step-in style that has an escape free mechanism in the closure which prevents your pup from escaping when pulling backwards. As your dog pulls, the harness wraps tighter around the dog to close any area for a leeway. The body is made of neoprene to contour the dog's body and provides water resistance and insulation against the cold. The padded shoulder features compressed foam to protect your puller. This lightweight harness features tough POM Plastic leash rings and hardware which is used to make seat belt buckles. Rubber adjustment tabs are used to adjust the fit around the chest even when your pet isn't leashed. Quick-snap buckle closure with a solid black chest with Gooby logo.
Please follow the CHEST SIZING if there is a discrepancy between neck and chest.
Important Sizing Note: The following measurements are the dimensions of the actual product, not of the pet they fit. After measuring your pet, make sure all measurements fit within the following dimensions (with a little room to spare in the chest and neck).

We have a ShihTzu who is 11 pounds I purchased the small harness and it fits her perfectly - I have always used the escape free harness but decided to try this one as it looked like a updated version and more comfortable with the extra padding - this will be the only one I will use now easy to put on and off and I never worry about it coming off - I ordered the pink and will be getting more colors - you will not be disappointed

I have a 13 lb Shih Tzu. I don't like collars so I have been buying harnesses. I like this one because it doesn't pull around her neck. It is very easy to put on and she cannot get out of it. I bought a small for her but I have to admit I was not sure it would fit. During the summer she is cut short as it is hot here in Las Vegas. i also bought a medium to take care of the problem with longer hair in the winter and to go over her sweaters. I just bought a different color. So, small harness for the summer and medium for the winter. As a note the harness can go a little larger but it cannot be made smaller. Happy with purchase. PS. It also matches her Sleepy Pod car seat.

I bought this harness, hoping for a more comfortable fit without all the straps and bulky closures. Everything I've gotten in the past ends up with the buckle under our little dog's arm. Not comfortable for anyone! This is the most minimal I found. It fits perfectly and she seems much more comfortable. I thought I had the right size and it was too big. It'll go bigger but not smaller than the chest measurement, so measure carefully.
