MERCK Incurin Tablets for Dogs

MERCK Incurin is used for the treatment of hormone-responsive urinary incontinence due to sphincter mechanism incompetence in spayed female dogs. Incurin contains estriol, a natural estrogen. Estrogens increase the resting muscle tone of the urethra in females and can be used to treat female dogs with urinary incontinence due to estrogen depletion.

Dogs (female)

Incurin aids in the management of urinary incontinence and leakage.

Side effects may include nausea, swollen teats and vulva. These side effects are expected to minimize after your pet adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms appear excessive or persist, contact your veterinarian. Your pet may also experience (to a lesser degree): anxiety, increased sexual attractiveness, sleepiness/lethargy, or swelling of mammary tissues.

Other side effects may occur, if you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Incurin should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Do not stop giving the medication unless advised by your veterinarian. Wash your hands after handling this product.

Not for use in male dogs.

Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
