Pentoxifylline ER is a hemorrheologic, immunomodulatory agent. It is used to treat cutaneous vasculitis, atopic dermatitis, endotoxemia and navicular disease in horses. It is used in dogs for immune-mediated dermatologic conditions, enhance healing, and reduce inflammation. It is also used in cats to decrease vasculitis. Each tablet contains 400 mg of pentoxifylline. |

Side Effects |
Side effects may include some GI effects (nausea, diarrhea, & lack of appetite), excitement, nervousness. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. |
Usage |
Pentoxifylline Extended Release Tablets should be given to your pet as directed by your veterinarian. |
Cautions |
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Pentoxifylline can react with the following: antihypertensive drugs, NSAIDS, aspirin, clopidogrel, theophylline, and warfarin. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; widespread hives and itching. |
